Annual Meeting Minutes - July 10th, 2021

Red Rock Lake Association Annual Meeting – July 10, 202l

Board Members Present: Gary Waller, Pres. Dave Zabel, V.P. Todd Fick, Treas. Roger McCannon, Secty. Kathy Eystad, Bob Bowden, Les Kruse.

Meeting called to order at 10:15am by President Gary Waller at Runestone Park, Kensington, MN and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Fifty individuals were present.

Secretary's Report: Roger gave a summary of Board Meetings in 2020 and 2021 noting there was no Annual Meeting in 2020 due to the Corona-19 virus. The Board met six times—recurring discussions and topics included: carp removal, reports from lake testing and research, land reclamation projects, shoreline restoration, rental ice houses, road traffic, and website development. He reminded everyone about the new signs denoting the voluntary release of Walleyes over 17 inches. Also, he drew everyone's attention to the new website (redrocklakeassn.com ).

Treasurer's Report: Todd stated that the current checking balance is $1923.81 and the savings is $6816.56 for a total of $8740.37. He noted that most bills were for lake testing fees and Directory printing and other mailings. He also drew attention to the advertisers in the Directory. He reported there are currently 57 members. New 2021 Directories were available, and orders for sweatshirts/t-shirts were being taken by Sherry Norby.

Guest Speaker: Shane Osborne, Area Conservation Officer. He provided a wealth of information regarding fishing limits and regulations; licenses and permits needed for ATV's, and the care and removal of aquatic vegetation. He also talked about his agency's evolving role in general law enforcement.

President's Report: Through a Q & A approach, Gary covered many topics, including carp removal, the new “Wetland Bank”, rental fish houses, drain tiling, Walleye stocking, R & B Labs Reports, Blue Water Science report (note this is available on the new website), seagull presence on the lake, and structure of the outflow ditch. Meeting adjourned at 11:45 am and no potluck was held this year. Next Year's Annual Meeting will be July 9, 2022.
