Board Meeting Minutes for August 22, 2020

Members Present: Gary Waller, Todd Fick, Roger McCannon, Les Kruse, Dave
Zabel, Marsha Parrish. Absent: Bob Bowden, Kathy Eystad.

1. Todd reported a financial balance of $9,864.33; and 41 paid members, likely
due to no Annual Meeting. He will generate a list of non-paid members, and
Roger will do a mailing to those, reminding them to pay. [NOTE: a mailing was
sent out in October, which generated additional payments, and now there are 58
paid members].
2. Gary reported the current water temps of 76-80 degrees, and has observed a
lot of Carp jumping everywhere; but there remains no market for them.
Discussion ensued about contacting the Douglas County Lakes Association to
broaden the concern about them and raise the possibility of a joint effort to
petition the DNR, or other elected officials. He also noted that Blue Water Science
had completed water testing, but didn't have any results yet.
3. Road traffic/speeding along North Red Rock Drive is a concern for everyone,
especially during the summer. Gary and Roger will meet with the Urness
Township Board to see what can done. [NOTE: they did meet with them on
September 1, 2020. After a lot of discussion, the Township Board agreed to
Contact MNDOT, which resulted in getting additional "slow down" signs installed
in the Spring].
4. Website. It was a pretty well unanimous discussion that our website needs a
remake. It is mostly to be used by our own membership, in a user friendly fashion,
but also others looking for recreation opportunities. [NOTE: Roger contacted
several web developers, and will be contacting more for bids].
5. Next Meeting set for Marcji 6, 2021.
NOTE: DUE TO CONTINUING CONCERNS ABOUT THE COVID-19 VIRUS. THE
MARCH 6 MEETING WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL SOMETIME IN MAY OR
JUNE.
