Board Meeting Minutes for May 22, 2020
Members Present: Gary Waller, Todd Fick, Dave Zabel, Bob Bowden, Kathy
Eystad, Marsha Parrish, Roger McCannon
1. Gary stated that dues of $112 were paid to Douglas County Lake
Association and $100 to Minnesota Lakes and Rivers.
2. Anyone looking for leftover T-shirs and Directories from 2019 can contact
Gary; he has extras.
3. Approximately 100 acres of the Roy Thompson property north of the turkey
bams on the southeast area of the lake were purchased by Pheasants Forever
which later were turned over to the DNR. Also, approximately 22 acres of
the Bob Johnson property on the north side of the lake is sold and being
developed into a wetland bank—no crops or cattle allowed.
4. Blue Water Science has been testing the lake for aquatic vegetation for
Douglas County Soil and Water. The Association also pays $350 to R and B
Labs for five tests per year.
5. There was discussion again regarding Rental Ice Houses. Shane Osbom,
Game Warden, reported that he observed a lot of trash left behind last winter.
6. Dean Beck, Glenwood Fisheries, has noted a lot of seagulls and cormorants
around the lake and the nearby landfill. He also reported that Red Rock
Lake receives 523 lbs of walleye fingerlings, stocked every other year.
7. The Annual Meeting set for July 11 will be canceled due to the corona virus.
8. The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2020.
